Group met at Charles’ publicly known apartment in Manhattan at noon. At V.S.‘s request, Charles provided donuts. Several of the group
noticed that someone of the female persuasion had been staying at Charles’, while Andromeda recognized that it was in fact Dr Patricia Fairlane. David demonstrated that he is finding it a bit
easier to believe in Magic and the Supernatural. Jane mentioned that what was described was similar to what was done to David Stutler. V.S. pointed out that whoever was doing so could use the power purely as a battery.Andromeda shared the information that Calliope had informed her that when she went to Olympus, Zeus would not see her and has forbidden the other deities have been forbidden to see her. While various discussions occurred, Cameron indicated that she did not want Aphrodite around V.S., who responded that “She had no competition” which caused Cameron to smile ridiculously. The group then took Terri’s new Van (replacing the Mystery Machine painted one she had bought and Cameron made her replace). Cameron took the driver’s seat, giving Terri (in dog form) a bone (a femur from one of the zombies form a month ago) and the group made their way to 5Pointz.
As the group arrived at 5Pointz, Jennifer Smith/Calliope
met the group outside and led them to her apartment, which, unlike all the rest of 5Pointz, was graffiti free. Cameron immediately took up a paint tablet and began painting, Andromeda moved to the piano and began composing a sonata, while Jane left the room and began spray-painting the nearest wall. Calliope apologized and regained control, though Cameron asked if she could finish (she was doing a good imitation of DaVinci’s style, but painting her own masterpiece.) Calliope shared that she changed her word back in the 50s, and that the drain started about 2 years ago. She blamed the drain originally on her changing her focus and the more recent loss of control on punishment from Zeus. Andromeda also recognized Jennifer Smith as fellow model, Kate Upton.
Charles looked at Calliope and saw her as she looked normally, wearing a Toga and High Top sneakers, holding a writing tablet in her left hand (her traditional symbol) and a can of blue spray paint. He also saw a line similar to that from Stutler’s murder site and where he was found, originating from Calliope’s heart, but as he looked, it began to bounce around, making it’s destination unknowable. V.S. then opened the Sight and looked at Calliope and her room. He saw Calliope just as Charles did, then scanned the room, seeing a baseball where he could hear the roar of a packed stadium, then a boom box which played a hit song from each decade (Elvis, The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Britney Spears, and Justin Bieber) and finally at Cameron’s painting, which had a renaissance dressed old man standing next to her. He also saw Cameron with the sight, seeing her with angles wings similar to the ones he saw looking at Dolores. He also noticed that David looked different, now looking like a man with the head of a black panther. He then closed the sight. The group deduced that an item sacred or connected to Calliope could be used to perform the drain. As the group asked if anything odd had happened, she mentioned that a talent agent, Zoe Washburn, had come by to try to sign her, but that she refused, as she represents herself. Further discussion showed that the drain did coincide within a month or two, of her getting fired from Victoria’s Secret (claiming her figure was not the right type – though they hired Andromeda about a month later). Cameron interrupted to ask Terri if she could hang her painting in the apartment. Terri said sure, and asked for a print for ‘her room’.
Several preposterous theories were proposed, then David asked Jane about when The Shop created the spraycam technology. Jane responded that it was about a year-year and a half ago. Jane asked Cameron to see if she could detect any spraycam type signals and Cameron reported she found nothing except commercially available wireless signals. Calliope, then explained that she has cancelled all her appearances as Kate Upton (saying she’s going on vacation). The group recommended she might want to return to join her sisters on Mount Hirocon, but she seemed concerned that it might give the person draining her access to The Sacred Pools and her sisters.
As the group discussed things, there was a knocking at the door, and Susanna Hoffman arrived, indicating that Calliope had contacted The House of Life and they sent here. she apologized for being late, the subways were running late, and then the group brought her up to speed. She then agreed to work with everyone and said she would get back to them when she finds something out.
The group then departed, going their own ways. Cameron returned to the apartment, to hang up the painting and co-ordinate communication. David spoke with Serena Elessidil regarding items sacred to Calliope that might have gone missing more than 2 years ago. Serena got back to him – A writing tablet from Athens, attributed to Homer, a manuscript of The Canterbury Tales stolen from The Museum of London, a pen used by Henry David Thoreau stolen from the LA History Museum, and a suit worn by Mark Twain stolen form The Smithsonian. Terri took to the streets to see what she could find regarding weird antiquities on the street, finding the local fences knew of several robberies at museums, but none of the stolen items have come across their way. Jane contacted Agent Ivanova, informing her regarding the current project as well as the possible connection between Stutler’s death and Calliope’s drain. She then got put on the case and got permission to contact Warehouse 13 then contacted Agent Myka Bering at the Warehouse. Jane informed her of the situation and indicated that the drain may be related to an artifact related to Calliope. The next morning Jane received a call from Myka the next morning, telling her they knew of three – Homer’s writing tablet used to compose The Iliad and The Odyssey, Mark Twain’s suit, and a turntable used by Grand Master Flash (one of the founder’s of Hip Hop). V.S. contacted a Demon for information, negotiating the ability to contact this demon for binary questions, to get truthful answers, promising on his power, to never bind this demon. In his overconfidence from binding Valmarkham, instead of summoning an imp, he accidentally contacted Shiva (the Destroyer) and made the bargain before realizing who he was talking to. After recovering from his realization, he asked her the question, “Is the one stealing the power Cowl or The Master” and Shiva responded, “The one doing so calls himself The Master”. He then asked, “Is the one doing the drain Cowl” and she answered “The one doing so does not call himself Cowl”. He then asked “Would David Akon reference this person as Cowl” and she responded that “Akon was not aware of this person”. He then asked “Is it Kemmler?” and she said “No”. Charles performed a divination, with V.S.‘s assistance, which gave him a visual presentation of “The Iliad” as written by Homer, with the cast of “Troy”. Andromeda went to Camp Halfblood to speak Chiron and asked him about Calliope. Chiron did not speak about Calliope, asking her “Who?” and stating there were only Eight Muses. After leaving, she returned home and stared at Katoptris, hoping for a vision. She saw Siobhan Chu with the ’line of power’ coming from Calliope, either ending at Siobhan or running through her, with Calliope cutting Siobhan’s throat with Katoptris. Andromeda then told Siobhan about everything going on and then her vision. Siobhan pointed out the vision could be many things, not necessarily literal.
Cameron called everyone the next morning, (after her morning run (with Terri) and being stalked by David in panther form. Both spotted him. He ran off, and Cameron called the Central Park Precinct, reporting the large hunting cat, sending them pictures form her phone of the paw prints as proof) stating that everyone had contacted her at various times, and they might want to meet for breakfast. When the group arrived, to the smells of a delicious breakfast, Cameron immediately told them of the panther she saw during her morning run. Over breakfast, the group shared the information they found. They deduced from the connecting points that perhaps the Tablet of Homer was the connection. Jane pointed out that the dagger was another connection to Troy. David pointed out that the vision could have come from The Olympians, which he and Terri viewed as could be deceiving due to the source. Cameron then recalled that she should have called Susanna, and then called her. 20 minutes later, Susanna showed up. After getting some food in her, Susanna shared that a similar thing did happen once in the past, by someone named Moses, who drained the wizards of The House to bring about the Plagues of Egypt. A discussion of what to do about the Tablet and how to find it ensued, Jane recommending that perhaps Terri could contact Drusillia to see if the Wee Folk could find it. David also brought up their friends in the Warehouse. Andromeda expressed concern over ‘Kate Upton’ being fired by Victoria’s Secret (for being too busty), and Andromeda (who is slightly bustier) being hired a month later.
