(Retroactive significant Milestone awarded for the Rescues of Serena
Cameron completed her report about Pelham 1-2-3 and the tunnel it was locked away in, confirming that Lazarus Jacobs
had made the train functional and powered. When Charles asked her about if the wall at
the end of the tunnel had been weakened, she did not know, but she had confirmed she’d seen Muerte doing something with the wall.
As the group discussed their plans, Andromeda received a call from her agent, Zoe Washburn, of Washburn and Associates
, who told her she had just been contacted to see if Andromeda was interested in appearing in Pitbull’s latest video, as Scarlett Johanssen had gotten sick and they needed a replacement. Zoe informed Andromeda she would have to be in Miami tomorrow, if she wanted the job. Andromeda told Zoe she had a personal matter, and would be interested, but was not available tomorrow. Zoe said she would try to re-schedule the appearance, but made no guarantees.
Jane contacted The Agency
, to requisition a Tactical Vest. During the conversation, Agent Ivanova reiterated that The Director
wanted to meet with Jane, her associates, and especially Ms. Tam, sometime in the next few days.
David received a call from Serena Elessidil
, where she told him she had found a loophole for his ‘enslavement’ to Lady Ariel
. If he were to marry her, making him Prince-Consort to the Heir to the Cintran Throne, he would become hands off for all of Faerie. She reiterated that she was putting no pressure on David, and telling him this only as he expressed a desire to her to find a way out of his situation with Lady Ariel
Terri received a call from the NYC District Attorneys Office
, wanting to know if she could come in today. Apparently, a new witness had been discovered in the Kardashian Murder Trial, and the DA needed Terri to prove the witness false. Terri went out to the DA’s office and found out that Harry Genovese was now claiming he lied about his whereabouts originally, and now claims he was at a Gay bar with one Robert Sherman, during the time of the murder. Sherman only recently returned to NYC
and has now come forward. The DA explained that he needed her pronto. Terri took the investigation, eventually learning it was a falsehood, convincing Sherman to admit he was paid to come forward. Terri provided recorded testimony to the DA, who said he would only call her to the stand, if necessary. Terri accomplished this quick enough to participate in the assault on Lazarus, the next morning.
Andromeda hit the computers and discovered a report from an MTA
Maintenance Engineer, that the MTA
had written off as being drunk (tests showed his BAL
was way above the legal limit), that stated while wokring on the Lights on the Main Line, near the closed off tunnel, he saw Sewer rats moving through the wall blocking the abandoned tunnel (where Pelham 1-2-3/Lazarus’ Bolt Hole, was now hidden). This report, combined with Cameron’s comment regarding Muerte and the wall, led the group to suspect the wall might be an illusion.
The group then debated which way to approach, discussing whether to come in through the Wall or the entrance.
Meanwhile, Jane looked into the possibility of arranging that the sensors/cameras in the tunnel could be disabled for about 45 min round 9AM tomorrow morning. Her associate at The Agency, Chuck Taylor
, told her he could do it, but in exchange she would accompany him to dinner on Friday night. She agreed.
Terri and David arranged getting the group MTA
Maintenance Personnel Jumpsuits and RFID
Chips to identify themselves to unlock the gate from the Subway platform to the tunnel.
Next morning, the group proceeded to the Train. Andromeda caught a teenager attempting to lift her wallet on the subway platform. Once concealed by the darkness of the tunnel, the gorup slipped into their gear (Andromeda donning a suit of Greek Hoplite Armor complete with Helmet, the others donning Bulletproof vests (except for Jane who donned her Tac Vest).
As the group approached the wall, two concealed gunmen on the other side of the ‘wall’, opened fire on the group, surprising them and targeting Charles, Jane, and Terri. The bullets filled the tunnel, injuring Jane’s leg and hitting the other two as well. Fire continued, breaking Charles’ left arm. David returned fire, injuring one of the gunmen. Cameron fired her M-16 on the same target, her bullets exploding his head like a watermelon. V.S dispelled the illusionary wall, revealing a third gunman at the doorway at the back of the train, as well as several orcs (their innate veils of humanity dropped).
The gunman at the door, opened fire on Charles, Jane, and Terri, Jane suffering enough damage to render her unconscious. One of the orcs fired a flaming arrow at Andromeda, missing. The gunman at the back door of the train fired his AK at Andromeda, Charles, and Terri, hitting Charles and Terri, and spinning Terri around, causing her to twist her ankle. Three more orcs sprinted at Andromeda and Cameron, two attacking Andromeda, one hitting, while the other flailed futilely at Cameron. Charles summoned an illusion on the two gunmen outside the train as well as one of the orcs, causing them to witness terrors untold, rendering them unconscious from fear. Terri threw a sleep spell at the two charging orcs, putting one of them to sleep.
Lazarus (wearing ornate, old, gold and silvered Greek Hoplite armor) seeing his people drop like flies, fled to the street, using his rigged security to open the doors for him automatically. David pursued Lazarus as Cameron ‘snicked’ out her claws and ripped open the chest of the orc attacking her. The remaining gunman, seeing this, dropped his weapon and surrendered. V.S. joined the pursuit of Lazarus, the others, excluding Charles and Terri, also racing up the stairs and onto the crowded 57th Street. Charles stopped briefly to administer first aid to Jane and deal with the surrendered gunman.
Panic ensued on the nearby Subway platform, from the sound of gunfire echoing down the tunnel, caused the crowded Subway platform to empty the panicked crowd of people onto 57th Street. Lazarus turned on David, pulling an ancient looking Katana from his back and swinging it at David, breaking David’s left arm and slashing his left leg. David convinced Lazarus that Risa was going to betray him, causing self doubt. Cameron moved like lightning at Lazarus, who dodged her swing. V.S. threw a ‘Hotfoot’ spell onto Lazarus, to prevent him from trying to escape, while Charles (still on the train) continued to aid Jane. Terri entered the Main car of Pelham 1-2-3, searching for anything that might belong to Lazarus, finding nothing.
Lazarus resumed his flight, slowed down by V.S.‘s spell. David continued to pursue Lazarus, shouting at him, “You know we killed your girlfriend after she reported to Lucky Lucciano through her lesbian lover?”. V.S. renewed the ’Hotfoot’ on Lazarus while Andromeda continued her pursuit. Charles restored the illusion of the wall blocking the tunnel and Terri moved her search of the train to the second car. Lazarus’ flight continued. David, frustrated at the possibility of Lazarus getting away, pulled his gun and fired, the bullet richocheting off Lazarus’armor. V.S. threw an image into Lazarus’ mind of Tarterus and it’s demons coming for him, which caused him to freeze in terror, ceasing his flight. Shortly, thereafter, Lazarus’ heart seized, and he died from fright.
Andromeda quickly grabbed Lazarus’ corpse as a passing businessman hit David in the head with his briefcase, knocking him to the ground and grabbing his arm. Seeing her friend assaulted, Cameron fired on the man, killing him. V.S. fled the site, calling Terri to fill her in. Cameron helped David to his feet, then fled with Andromeda (carrying Lazarus’ corpse) one way, while David fled another direction.
David called Jane as he fled, asking for some finagling regarding the camera’s that may have seen the altercation. David then headed to the nearest hospital. Jane contacted The Agency, to discover that YouTube already had numerous postings of the “Running Battle on 57th Street” and that ABC
News already picked up the various footage. Agent Ivanova told Jane to contact her friends at the UCU
and get them to assist in covering the incident. Someone interupted Ivanova, and she put Jane on hold for a few moments, after which, Jane was told by Ivanova that the Director was going to meet them all at Jane’s ‘office’ at the FBI
. She then directed Jane to take Charles and Terri to her ‘office’ and meet with the rest and the Director, there. V.S., Andromeda, Cameron, and, David all got calls from someone with an ‘Eastern European’ Accent telling them she was Jane’s boss, and that she would assist them out of this mess, but that they needed to go to FBI
Headquarters, and surrender themselves.
Not questioning the voice on the phone, those called did as instructed, and were promptly arrested and taken to Jane’s office where they met her boss.
Jane’s boss commented on the situation and events, pointing out the foibles (Andromeda carrying the body away, the fight on the very public, and crowded, street, etc). She then proposed that her Bureau would cover up the situation, (after explaining how she could not let the truth of this incident grow beyond what it was) stating that Jane Charles, and Terri could leave, while the others, who were now on various video services for their actions, would be arrested and interrogated, and then smuggled out by one, Jack Bauer. Charles and V.S., suspicious of Jane’s Boss, opened The Sight and saw her true form, surrounded by the aura indicating that this person was a Creature of Shadow.
It was also made clear, that in exchange for this, those involved would later be called upon to return the favor at a later date. The group agreed and the cover was instituted.
