(Session began on August 15)
Paul, Doug, and Alex went to the address provided by Agent Miranda Walker
for Agent Carrie Minnervini
‘s sister. The same address was on the cat’s collar. As Paul checked the address address in his GPS
, he decided going there was not something he wanted to do as it was the address of the Gotti Family, the heads of the Gambino Crime Family. Doug suggested taking the cat to the ASPCA
and Paul liked this idea, and that is what was done with the cat.
Meeting up at centralized diner, the group gathered for breakfast and to discuss what they found. Paul shared he ran facial recognition on Agent Minervivni and she was a facial match for John Gotti Sr.’s daughter, Constance, who had not been seen since she was a young girl in the 90s.
Doug then examined the scans of the photos, translating the writing on the photos of the various locations, discovering the purpose of each was to begin the corruption of each location. Doug was pretty sure someone with skill could use these to begin the corruption and that that was the reason for them being composites stretching over 24 hrs.
Janice then asked “Who wants to go to a bar and beat some people up? Haven’t you seen Watchmen? We go, beat some people up, torture them for information, and…”. Examining Mikhs Pub
was then discussed.
The group then changed discussions, regarding runes and possible identifications of who might have carved them. Janice then brought up Thor Mjolnirson and the possibility of him providing additional information. The group thought going to The Scandinavian East Coast Museum
to speak with Thor.
Finishing their breakfast then hopping the subway, the group arrived at the museum at 10:30. The main hall was dominated by a recreated life size Viking longship. Wandering the museum, the group took in the various exhibits which ranged from ancient Vikings to more modern Scandinavian immigrants. Janice, Telloria, and Teri had a sense that someone was watching them, but could not see who. Janice then approached the Information Desk, and asked to see Mr Mjolnirson. The Security Guard called Thor and he said to send them up. Entering his office, apparently he knew Janice for who and what she was. He was quite respectful and rather worshipful. Janice told him about their encounters with runic magic and the hope that he might be able to shed some light on things. He seemed to be able to see each person for their true selves And knew Janice’s Valkyrie Name (Olrun). Asking about the magic, he was positive only those of Janice’s kind and the servants of The All Father could cast such magic. He had heard rumor of another Valkyrie and said he look into it. While the group waited and partook of the coffee and donuts, Thor made several calls. 20 minutes later, he told the group he did not find much, but was able to get a name – Trina Nylund
. Janice thanked him and the group departed.
Leaving the building, Janice stated how she “hated followers”. Telloria pointed out how he could probably sense everyone for what they were. A brief discussion the Norse deities ensued, and included Teri busting Janice’s ‘balls’ using her Valkyrie Name. Paul ran a quick search using his NYPD
Laptop, and found no records of Trina Nylund (no police record, no Drivers License, no federal or State/City issued ID). Janice was fairly certain it was a mortal name/alias.
Stepping away, Teri contacted Detective Iskane Lee
and Karl Kolchak
, providing them with Trina Nylund’s name and seeing if they could come up with anything. Doug made some calls to see if his contacts could discover anything, several reports of a woman (Long black hair, brown eyes, young, pretty, attractive, busty, wearing Viking armor) doing things ranging from superhero-like to Supervillain-like all attributed to a young woman named Trina. All occurrences happened in the area from Broadway to the Hudson River and from the Empire State Building down to Battery Park.
At 2, having received Doug’s information, Teri went to the 21st Street Mission
, to see if they’ve heard of Trina, however no one there had heard anything. As Teri left, received a call from Karl Kolchak. Karl had a lead from a reliable contact, who claimed to have an eyewitness account of Trina, but wanted $10,000 for his story. The contact name was Joe Stanton
, a P.I. for Bauer Investigations
. Kolchak then gave Teri a contact number and wished her luck. Teri then called Telloria, to inform Telloria that Teri had a possible lead on someone regarding Trina, and it was her boyfriend. Telloria then contacted Joe, trying to arrange a meeting for dinner, but he said he was on a job. When she told him the name, after defining the call as a purely professional one, he said he had no knowledge of Trina Nylund. The call did not go well, Telloria not being the most diplomatic of people. She then contacted Teri, saying she screwed up the call. Teri then received a text message from Kolchak, saying “He’s not selling the information any more”. Teri then mass txt’d the group about the information and scheduled a meet up at Telloria’s apartment.
As the group discussed Joe, Paul got a call from the NYPD
informing him that Joe Stanton was just involved in a break in and EMTs were on site examining him for a stab wound. 10 min later, via Paul’s car and Siren and Light, the group arrived at Joe’s apartment. The metal security door had been kicked open and across the room, several pieces in the apartment were toppled over, with several bullet holes in the walls, the window behind him shattered outward . Joe lay on the ground unconscious, EMT’s bandaging a stab wound on his left side, trying to stabilize him. Telloria rushed to Joe’s side, playing the girlfriend card. Teri recognized Detective Lee, who seemed to be the detective in charge.
While the rest looked around and conversed with the detectives, Janice sensed one of her kind had been present in the room and was still present in the building somewhere. Janice focused on this and was able to sense her ‘sister’ on the roof or the floor below it. Janice grabbed Doug and the two went to the roof, and looked around. Janice determined she had been on the roof and was in the apartment beneath her and Doug. The two then Went down to the 10th floor apartment, and Janice knocked on the door with no answer, on the way Doug texted the group an update. Teri excused herself from Detective Lee and joined Doug and Janice. Teri then took the stairs up to the roof. On the roof, Teri detected that two portals, one to Summer and one to Winter had been opened in the area of the roof right above the window to the apartment. Doug and Janice rejoined Teri on the roof. The Police calmly and politely ushered Telloria from the room and she made her way to the roof, discovering a necklace similar to one she had seen Murlocs wear. Looking over the edge, Teri saw darkness through the apartment window, similar to the darkness Telloria faced in Ellistrae
‘s apartment. As the group debated what to do, Teri sensed a portal to the Never Never opening in the apartment and Janice no longer sensed her ’sister’’s presence. At this point, Telloria noticed Silvermist
was missing and had apparently been missing for a while, having decided to check out the apartment while the group debated the Impenetrable Darkness.
Teri raced down to the apartment, summoning Drucilia, explaining the situation. Having Dru check the window, she reported back the apartment was empty. Teri tested the door, opening it. The apartment was fairly bland, white on white furniture and walls with a few Elmore Prints. Dru was asked to check it out, reporting back the bed was unmade and slept in recently, clothes in the closet, women’s personal items in the bathroom.
While this was happening, Silvermist returned, out of breath, and scared. She explained she followed Trina, who went to the Wylds, to the ‘Caves of the Goblin King, Lord of the Hunt, Join or Die, not my thing’. The group met up at the elevator, as Telloria tried to hide the unconscious Silvermist with her hair. Telloria asked Teri about ‘The Lord of the Hunt’.
Telloria brought up the necklace she found, telling the group about Murlocs, Teri thought it might have belonged to a Goblin rather than a Murloc (Telloria making her judgement based on her background and Teri basing it on the new information of The Erlking’s involvement).
Paul rejoined the group, telling the group there was no camera footage as the power to the cameras as well as all backup systems, failed for the last 2 hours. By this time, Joe had been removed from the scene and taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
The group then rendezvoused at Telloria’s, after she checked on Joe at the Hospital. A pizza is ordered for Silvermist which woke up to the smell of, and she devoured it, returning to Telloria’s shoulder, tired, and fell asleep again. When Silvermist re-awoke, she began to describe Trina, and Janice was able to identify her as Herja, one of the older Valkyrie, and a blood relation to Odin, unlike Janice who identifies herself as Created. Janice was also able to identify the armor and weapons Herja bore as ‘official’, the Valkyrie gear issued to her by Odin. Silvermist also mentioned seeing Herja carrying an ornate box covered with gold and gemstones. Janice pointed out that Herja could have been there to see a friend/former hunter, while Teri said it could be for Sanctuary.
