Born January 1, 1805 in England to an old family of the aristocracy (his “elder brother” is a peer in the House of Lords). Raised to a life of wealth and privilege, his family nonetheless instilled in him an old fashioned sense of responsibility and duty. His talent for the scholarly pursuits was encouraged at an early age (graduated from Cambridge with honors). His talent for the arcane arts was discovered somewhat later, but encouraged (quietly) to the benefit of family, king and country.

His family has been instrumental in keeping Charles’ secret, mainly by faking his death on a few occasions and fostering a new identity within the family. Currently he is the “younger brother” to Edmund Fischer, the Duke of Thornbridge. In truth, Charles is Edmund’s great great grand uncle.

His “lifetimes” spent before the present were occupied by a variety of pursuits, most of a scholarly nature. his involvement with the White Council dates from the early 1840’s. He has traveled widely, particularly in Europe, where he found a life-long love of ancient western history. Classical history and ancient languages have been his specialty from an early age.

Charles has been a teacher for many years. This includes a traditional professorship at Cambridge University as well as the occasional apprentice in the arcane arts. BACKGROUND

Charles has been a teacher for many years (and in many “lifetimes”). This includes a traditional professorship at Cambridge University as well as the occasional apprentice in the arcane arts. From these apprentices, as from himself, he has always expected the highest standards of honor and responsibility, especially with regards to the laws of magic. He has been careful to screen such students and deny tutelage to those who might not have the moral fiber required to walk this difficult and dangerous path. On one occasion, he failed. In 1999 a promising student by the name of James Howard, went bad. James fancied himself a “spellbinder” and rationalized his violation of the 3rd and 4th laws as “being for the common good”, even as he attempted to conceal them. He failed too, and took the better part of valor by hightailing it to America, with Charles following close behind. The professor caught up with his wayward apprentice in NYC, subdued him and brought him before the White Council for judgment. Defiant as he was, no one saw fit to sponsor James in the Doom, and so he met his end. From that day forward, Charles has been extremely careful in all things, especially in selecting (and testing) his apprentices. At present, with the war on, he has none.*

RISING CONFLICT

THE STORY: ANIMAL HOUSE

GUEST STARRING: DAVID LYTTON & ANDROMEDA SPIRIDAKOS

Professor Michaels (who knows of Charles talents) asked him to help investigate very strange goings on in one of the dormitories. What originally seemed like a possible white court infiltration turned out to be a minor summer fey (“Aspen”) having some fun with the students in vengeance for the theft of a Greek amulet from her friend. She wanted the amulet returned before she would stop and let the students get back to their studies (and normal social lives). Charles spoke with a number of students before meeting Andromeda (who was visiting a friend). She remembered seeing the amulet around the neck of a girl named “Kate”. By the time Charles could speak with Kate, she had already given the amulet back to her boyfriend “David Lyton” in desperation. After Charles spoke with David (who said he’d consider returning it), Andromeda invited David over (on false pretences). During the heat of the moment, she got the amulet from him. Aspen, meanwhile was recording the festivities (and later sent a copy to Kate). Andromeda gave the amulet to Charles who returned it to Aspen. Having gotten what she wanted, Aspen was happy to move back to Central Park. As a result of this bloodless exchange, Charles is now on good terms with Summer.
