The discussion continued in The Flame of Knowledge
with Andromeda being brought up to speed about Maxwell Jones
, Jessica Brown
, and Alicia Washington
. The group decided the assassins were merely a delaying tactic, and therefore should not be dealt with by them. It was resolved to take the pen to Psyche, as well as perhaps taking a ‘trip across the pond’ to acquire items to summon William Howe’s ghost.
Andromeda received a call from Dragonfly telling her that, “Your services are no longer needed.” When Andromeda asked why, Dragonfly replied, “The person who’s attention I needed to attract with you has revealed herself.”
V.S. then asked Andromeda about summoning Psyche, and Andromeda said she could use Freud’s Pen to summon her. Charles suggested a location other than The Historical Site for Freud might work. At the pushing of the rest of the group, Andromeda contacted Dr. Blake. After confirming that it was not a social call, she arranged for the group to use his office.
At 11 PM, the group arrived at Dr. Blake’s office, where Security let the group into Dr. Blake’s office. The group piled into Blake’s office, Andromeda placed the pen on Blake’s desk, and called on Psyche. This caused a gentle rapping on the door, and Andromeda opened it, to reveal Psyche. The group poured into the Waiting Room and spoke with Psyche, who took the Pen and gave them Apollo’s Metronome, and told Charles and V.S. to place the Metronome on the circle at 38 Degrees from Galactic North and set the metronome off before the final incantation was cast.
The group then returned to The Flame. Charles and David then departed, via The NeverNever, for London, while Jane, Terri, and Andromeda went to Andromeda’s for the night, as V.S. and Cameron went upstairs, all to sleep. Charles and David arrived at 5AM in London, just around sunrise. David spent the day getting the necessary equipment and casing the area of the British Museum where Howe’s artifacts were – Howe’s uniform, Officer’s Sabre, Favorite Pistol, and a locket with an image of his deceased wife within it (which also seemed to contain 3 golden hairs within it. Later that evening, David infiltrated the Museum, and took the locket and officer’s sword, replacing them with official looking cards which read “Removed for Conservancy”. The two arrived back in New York 7PM on Sunday.
Meanwhile, V.S.contacted Alleria Windrunner
, to arrange a meeting at her apartment at 18 w136th Street
. Arriving at 9AM, Jane, V.S., Cameron, and Andromeda went up to Lucy’s apartment. After sitting down, Jane asked Lucy about Frostmourne. Alleria/Lucy asked why they wanted to know about “the artifact of evil”. Jane explained about getting the shard and wanting to use it as a permanent prison. Alleria confirmed she might have some texts which belonged to her now deceased lover, Turaylon, and gave a satchel (made out of some hide V.S. did not recognize) which contained 5 separate tomes. Using a Speed Reading potion, read through them and found a ritual that he believed would work with the Shard of Frostmourne.
Returning to New York, Charles looked over the items from England, seeing General Howe, in full uniform connected to the sword, and the locket showed Howe’s wife, who died while Howe was occupying New York during the Revolution. V.S. then shared how to utilize the Shard of Frostmourne. The group then called it a night, everyone seeking out their beddings in The Flame.
Everyone awoke the next morning to the smell of Breakfast cooking and Cameron singing Show Tunes (badly). V.S. tried, badly, to tell Cameron that her singing was not very good. This caused her to ensure that, for V.S., “there was no coffee” and all the food ended up at the opposite end of the table from him. This was followed by her having $20 in Dunkin Donuts Gift Certificates e-mailed to him. As Cameron was cleaning up from breakfast, V.S. went into the kitchen to help and apologize. Charles and Andromeda and V.S., curious about the Locket, looked into how it ended up in The British Museum, knowing he kept it on himself at all times. The strange thing being that 20 years ago, the locket was stolen from Howe, and he never made an effort to retrieve it. Andromeda found information, that was stored on secured MI-6 servers. Charles wondered what the British Government may have wanted with the Locket, and Jane mentioned that she knew of a British version of The Agency
but with more of a technomancy leaning. After some discussion, the group decided to cease pursuing this line of inquiry.
Charles contacted Angie Ramirez at Redeemer Lutheran Church
and arranged to summon Howe’s ghost in the afternoon. Utilizing the Locket, Charles and Angie summoned up Howe’s ghost. Charles offered to aid Lord Howe in his vengeance on The Master
in exchange for Howe’s aid. Howe provided the group with a layout of the Castle he had imported stone by stone from England (which included stones from Hadrian’s Wall). He told them he had it patrolled by golems that Howe had built for him, and he believed Kemmler had destroyed all of them, though he did inform the group that they should be able to command any they encountered that remained.
David arranged for waterborn transportation for the next morning as the group began to discuss how to penetrate the Castle. Pegasi were contemplated, and Andromeda admitted she might have access to pegasi, but she would need to communicate with Chiron. Andromeda went to Camp Halfblood
to speak with Chiron, who had a bit of trouble with addressing her as The Chosen of Athena and Protector of New York. She addressed her request to Chiron, who mentioned something about a prophecy, and told her to speak to the pegasi herself. After mentioning Susanna Hoffman
and how he liked her, and dropping a mentioning of a twin sister to Andromeda, the pegasi agreed to help, though, they emphasized that they could not land in the courtyard and it would be from a decent height. Andromeda then returned to The Flame, informing everyone of the drawback of needing parachutes.
