Session begins on Sunday, Nov 10 at 2PM
Abercrombie proposed that staking out Central Park might not be worth it as the wolves were attacking outside the park. Alexander proposed checking out The Copacabana due to the link from the ring.
Blueprints were obtained covering the The Copacabana, revealing that the property had been purchased by a Silverlight Studios, of Los Angeles, in 2018. The blueprints revealed that there was 4 floors to the club, top floor was management and staff, the other three were the club.
Arriving at The Copacabana, the main entrance was boarded completely up, announcing that the club would re-open in July 2020. The side door was boarded, but they had obviously been removed and put back. Michael easily removed the boards form the door and noticed the door itself was unlocked.
Abercrombie and Rebel sensed that they were not alone in the alleyway. Abercrombie opened his SIGHT. He saw Rebel as an oriental Mastiff complete with man and mustache, Alex with a glow around his head and stigmata on his hands and feet, Elise was green with small horns, Michael had his dancing imp, and Dennis looked like a mind layer with gills. He also saw Hannah Ascher complete with shadowy shackles and mark of HAdes on her forehead.
Abercrombie closed The Sight and asked her to show herself. When she dropped the veil she was under, Elise recognized the scar on her forehead as the Angellic symbol for Lasciel, one of The Fallen.
A brief conversation ensued where the group learned she had been shadowing them for the last day, since they left The Scandinavian East Coast Museum, thinking their investigation might lead her to recovering the artifact related to Loviator that she was seeking.
Alexander slipped into the shadows as the rest (Hannah included) entered into a darkened hallway. To the left were some scurrying rats, a ladies room and men’s room, and an entrance into the club proper. To the right were stairs up, as well as a few rooms that were most likely offices or dressing rooms.
Abercrombie looked at Rebel and said, “Scooby Woo, do you smell blood?” And smelling the air, said, “Rats, dust, and three ghosts”. The group went in, and saw it had seen better days, most glass shattered, the disco ball lying in the middle of the room half shattered, the third floor not looking stable, the scaffolding for the lights half on the floor.
Alexander split off to investigate the stairway, running into the ghost of Rico, who looked like he had stepped out of Miami Vice, with a diamond pin in his tie and a shiny, pearl handled Colt 1911 pointed at Alexander’s head. Alex didn’t like being up there alone and headed back downstairs.
Meanwhile, Elise began humming ‘Copacabana’ while Michael lamely danced to it. As this happened, a bar appeared amongst the debris with the ghost of Rita appearing at the bar in an 80s dress complete with feathers in her hair, and a very Italian looking Tony cleaning the bar. The two ghosts were talking, but no one could hear any words.
As an experiment, Elise stopped humming, but the ghosts seemed unphased. While the group looked around, the ghostly Rita seemed to notice Rebel and looked at him, motioning him over. Rebel moved closer, and once within speaking distance, she asked him, “Why are you here?”
Rebel responded with “We are looking for Vampires.” Her response was there was “Last time was 2 years ago, in the VIP club in the basement.” At Rebel’s inquiry, he got directions to. The fourth floor, there is a hidden elevator behind a water fountain. Turn the knob up and down four times, and the elevator opens to the VIP club.
Abercrombie was confident he could handle the ghost and led the group up the stairs. Dennis remained downstairs, not wanting to take 4 flights of stairs. While the others did not want to approach the ghost as it manifested, Rebel was unphased. Letting out a yell, the Ghost held its arms over its head and vanished. Rebel then heard Rita’s ghostly voice say “Thank You. Be careful. There are people in the VIP Club.”
The group giggled the water fountain handle as indicated, and after it excesses 10’ into the wall, entered the elevator that appeared form the floor. The group rode it down, listening to the elevator music for the 3 minutes it took to ride down. EDM music filled the room, which had a stage opposite the elevator about 100 feet away with 7 lovely girls dancing in sync in various states of undress. A bar with 4 bartenders was on the group’s right, with the DJ area on the left and the club filled with people (Including a lot of celebrities and sports figures).
Rebel and Abercrombie sensed that the club was in the Never Never. Abercrombie lit up (using a potion) to give him a bonus to seeing through glamor, and saw that most of the non-celebrities were sporting pointed ears and summery colored hair. Abercrombie warned the group to be careful.
As the group looked, and Michael made his way to the dance team, a girl (Fae) approached and welcomed the group. Abercrombie bowed and she introduced herself as Melisande, and asked for introductions. Abercrombie introduced himself as Abe, and then the rest of the group.
When Abe assumed she was the hostess, she offered that she was just a guest, that Dragonfly was the hostess. He asked if one could have an audience with Dragonfly, and she said “perhaps”, waiting for his offer. Elise offered up a gets she had in one of the sports stars in the club in exchange for an introduction to Lady Dragonfly, and Melisande agreed. Several minutes later, she returned with Dragonfly in tow. As she approached, Michael followed the two women to rejoin the group and at the same time a portal of sorts opened in the Copacabana and Dennis stepped through to rejoin the group.
Dragonfly welcomed them and said that she was informed they wanted to speak to her. She asked why they were there and Rebel told them of the vampire, and Abercrombie told her the names on the ring.
She offered information for a favor and Abercrombie agreed, with stipulations. She agreed. She revealed that the girl was Jennifer Kalec, daughter of Vincent and Sarah, who had attended several parties and became involved with Roberto Escobado, son of the head of the Escobado Cartel. Roberto fed from Jennifer, on the dance floor, and for such, was banned from Dragonfly’s parties and club. She then kindly asked the group to leave. The group took said portal, Alexander hastily going first. Hannah did not return with the group.
Stepping outside the group noticed that it was dark and that the moon was waning. Checking cell phones, the group discovered it was Thursday, November 14, 1030 PM. News reports researched by Denis found reports of ’Eviscerated bodies of members of the Escobado Cartel were found in the Scumbee Warehouse in The Bronx" Tuesday morning, and “Eviscerated bodies of the Escobado Cartel discovered in an alleyway behind Madison Square Garden”. The only articles Dennis found mentioning the Escobado Cartel specifically, were written by Karl Kolchak of The New York Sun.
Making arrangements to meet at Alexander’s office in the morning, the group separated. Rebel contacted Wallabout Bay Warehouse 32 (aka The Brown Forest) to speak to Blind Man Bob or Terri Foster and left a message. Elise went to catch up with her roommates. Alexander went home for the night. Abercrombie went off to his lab to make silver bullets. Dennis did some research into Sarah and Vincent Kalec
Dennis’ research proved fruitful. Dennis first found Articles about the murder of Jennifer Kalec. Body discovered in her dorm room at NYU, throat cut, killer never found. 1 year later, Vincent and Sarah got divorced due to his spiraling depression over his daughters death. 2 month old photos of a living Jennifer with Roberto, entering Studio 54. And finally, Dennis found an apartment in a low rent part of The Bronx and an abandoned warehouse in an unsuccessful Office park on Staten Island.
That night, Michael had a late night visitor, an Agent Mulan Li of the FBI. After being offered a seat, she asked him what his interest was in Central Park. He told her of Thor and his putting the group together to look into the disappearances in Central Park. He told her of the Wedding Ring, and it’s engraving. She then asked about them entering The Copacabana, and if it was connected to the events going on. She he said he felt he wasn’t qualified to answer anything else, she gave him a business card, asking him to contact her if he discovered anything else.
The group then, at Dennis’ recommendation, relocated to Abercrombie’s Lab. Michael shared Agent Li’s business card, and told them she paid him a visit the previous evening. He shared what he told her. Alex asked if there was a reason why for the questions provided and Michael replied she never provided a reason and he never asked. Elise had Dennis investigate the phone number on the card, confirming it was in fact a valid number for the NYC Office of the FBI.
Friday, the group rendezvoused at Alexander’s office. Abercrombie asked Dennis to look into the origin of the Kalec last name, and it was discovered to be of Danish origin.
Dennis hacked in to the FBI database and verified that Agent Li was who spoke to Michael, and was a decorated agent of the FBI for the last 10 years. She is assigned to the NYC office and is a ‘troubleshooter’, brought in to assist other agents who feel they require her specific skill set. Agent Li’s services were requested by the investigating officer Special Agent Miranda Walker. The FBI was involved at the request of The Mayor of New York.
After some discussion, it was decided to investigate Kalec’s warehouse (In the evening). Looking around, Michael discovered an area where the fence surrounding the office park had been cut.
The warehouse was a bland, old brick building, with two garage doors and a regular door in the front, and exactly the same in the back, along with three garage doors on each side. Abercromie veiled the group and Michael then picked the lock on one of the doors. The door was opened, without a sound, and it was noticed that the hinges were brand new.
Inside there was a darkened office on the second floor with a catwalk around the warehouse. The ground floor was empty, accept for a 5’ diameter circle made of bronze. Michael and Alexander found a hidden trap door in the concrete, and opening it revealed a ladder descending into a darkened shaft where Rebel heard a crying baby.
A 30’ dimly lit corridor ended at a steel door, with a steel bar across it, from which the group heard a baby crying and the sound of children’s voices trying to silence the baby.
Rebel burst in finding the Ryder baby and the Shepard kids in a bedraggled cage with a sleeping area of hay and pillows and a cardboard box for the baby, a bucket for waste, and remnants of meals. The kids were terrified of the group. Abercrombie, who was on watch, sensed something, and it spooked him into coming down the ladder hastily to rejoin the group.
Heeding Abercrombie’s warning, Rebel and Michael grabbed the children, and the group headed out. As Alexander emerged from the whole, followed by Dennis, a Loup Garou and two werewolves in wolf form leapt form the second floor catwalk to attack. The Loup Garou attacked Alexander, its claws ripping his cows and his chest. In response, Alexander attacked the nearest werewolf (the male, brownish). Elise grabbed boy from Rebel and ran outside to the nearest office building. Rebel moved up form the tunnel and attacked the Loup Garou, damaging the creature. The female werewolf (blonde) attacked Alexander, it’s bit missing. Abercrombie emerged into the warehouse, and drank a potion of accuracy he had with him. Alexander dodged the bite of the male. Michael emerged from the tunnel, girl and baby in hand, and headed out of the warehouse toward Elise.
The Loup Garou bit into Rebel, injuring him. Alexander attacked the male, slicing it’s right front paw into uselessness, and it fled, followed closely by the female.
(Session ended here for the evening. Combat to continue next Session)
