Terri was born as the direct result of the favor owed to the Leanansidhe by Ted Forrester. She was raised by Lea (who has taken a fondness to that name for some strange reason) in the Nevernever learning to see the Winter Court as the immune system of the mortal realm. She took the name Foster as a reference to old folk tales about the fae and lost children.
She spent each summer with the Forresters ‘for the weekend’ as Lea put it, learning of the ‘real world’. Her relationship with Lea is much like that of a favored pet and Lea often refers to Terri as ‘My Best Hound’. She has always gotten along well with Ted but originally her relationship with Michelle was strained to say the least and only recently could they have been considered friendly.
Between Unseelie Magic and the Forrester’s ‘flexible ethics’, Terri became incredibly adept at finding out whatever it was that you least wanted her to know. This became a great game to the fae but has led to many arguments with mortals and is the basis for what is perceived as Terri’s antisocial demeanor. She is on good terms with Dragonfly to the point of being friends … or as close as fae come to that. This has led to many a defense attorney’s attempt to bribe or blackmail Terri, all of which has resulted in WINTER thanking them for their donations.
While on an errand for Lea, Terri took an internship at the District Attorney’s office and was later asked to stay on as an investigator. She enjoyed this and saw it as a mortal equivalent to her tasks for the Winter Court. Between the legal and fae courts, Terri has more than likely come in contact with a third of the city. She admires ADA Mike Cutter….
Ted Forrester owed Lea a favor for saving Michelle’s life which resulted in Terri’s birth. Terri spent most of every year in the Nevernever training with Lea but stayed with Ted & Michelle each summer. Relations with Michelle were conflicted as Terri was a reminder of not only what Ted did but why as well. Between Unseelie Magic and the Forrester’s ‘flexible’ ethics, Terri became skilled at finding out exactly what you least wanted her to know.
Terri took a job as intern in the D.A.’s office later stayed on as an investigator. So far, it has been a good counterpart to her assignments from Winter and has allowed her mostly unimpeded access to the city and a majority of its denizens.
Terri is assigned to gather info on a defendant found with the skins of several people. She learns that the accused is a sorceress who was designing a ritual to transfer youth from her living victims. Lea wants to know how this was accomplished. Terri follows the trail to The Flame of Knowledge bookstore where the sorceress bought a text on life magic. Wondering how this was corrupted into its opposite, VS directs Terri to see Charles Fischer at the college.
Directed by Mab to find 3 missing trolls, Terri tracks them as a hound to Central Park. She comes across Jane Louise Blue fighting a Gruff beside the bodies of the trolls in question. Terri ‘accidently’ trips the Gruff & gets the hell out of the park to report back to Mab.
Terri is contacted by Lea to discover what has happened to Marcus Sudalov, an individual who has owed a favor for a very, very long time. Terri finds a headless Marcus next to a dazed Andromeda and a sword-wielding Sergei Kovalev desperate to escape. Terri opened a portal to the Nevernever & led Sergei away thru the Wylds for a favor.
